So the mid-club season is approaching and so is SPRING BREAK!
This high performance camp is presented by T2VB, and will touch on all aspects and skills required to begin to master the game of volleyball. Become a student of the game by picking the brain of T2VB’s Head Coach, Tammy Thomas. She will help shape your skills for the club season you are already working so hard for, but we will also help your mind get ready for competition so you can play your best in all types of situations in volleyball. Then…on the last day you guys will get a chance to win some awesome prizes if you are able to put your skills AND mental game together to compete and win the 2v2 Tourney. We will have long boards, sunglasses, summer gear, and other spring wear to win so come out and be the talk of the summer with your hot gear and bragging rights on winning the Spring tourney of the year. Ages 10 & up can attend, we have two groups per session. The older group will go in the morning and then the younger players will go afterwards from noon to 3pm. Though high performance camp is the name, we will develop all levels…we have two courts and we will make sure you are in a group that will best suite your learning! Check out the brochure for more info or feel free to email Tammy to just chat about what the camp is all about and how we can improve your/your child’s skills. Our coaching philosophy has always been about development and being able to offer everything we can for YOU. Thanks for your time and register now to secure your spot. We have 24 spots open and the first 10 get 25$ off registration and 1 free entry into a beach volleyball clinic put on by T2VB this summer. Sign up to cash-in on this smokin’ deal!!
LOCATION OF CAMP: First Lutheran Christian School -> Below “B” is the correct place!
Email t2beachvolleyball@hotmail.com or call 250-979-8478 to chat with Tammy (please leave a message if there is no answer, and I will call you back as soon as I can)
Please pass this on to everyone you feel will benefit from knowing about this camp, and if you have a place to put up the flyer we would much appreciate any effort you have to help us get this info out since we do only have limited space available.
Well, the time has come for me to head back to Penticton. Well… kinda. I will be coaching the U-17 Penticton Club team for the 2012 season. I am currently coaching and personal training in Edmonton, where my home has been for the past 5 months. I will be moving back to Kelowna Feb 20th. T2VB will then be offering some camps and clinics for kids to attend as well as opportunities to get some private one-on-one training for anyone wishing to get a little more coaching this season. We will also start some beach volleyball training sessions for kids wanting to get a jump on the season. I believe that Vancouver has began their training so the Okanagan should get on board as well! We will announce those camps and clinics as they become available. I am excited to be back in the Okanagan and offer up these opportunities this spring.
This season my beach volleyball partner did not stop watching volleyball! All day long she had this website going, whether it was indoor or beach it was on. Check out this website to really learn the game and watch some intense vball matches. You can learn everything about attitude in these players so have fun picking up some tendencies.
We are proud to say that the summer beach club was a major success for 2011. We had over 20 kids commit to the club and really commit themselves to beach training. Teams that decided to go to Provincials this past weekend were successful placing top 5 in most divisions and coming close to that in others. Teams competed at their highest level in the Province and had fun while winning some big games. Next year we hope to send teams to Nationals to compete at the highest level in the country for their age groups and place in the top 10. We hope to medal but will not be disappointed with top 10 finishes in the Nation!! A big thanks to the 2011 sponsor GAEA Investments and Services. With the addition of our new coaches, some new equipment, and gear including the new T2VB Mystery Machine, T2 Volleyball was able to bring the club to the next level and really improve the quality of this year’s summer volleyball club. We would also like to thank all those that competed in the club and events, bringing their best energy each day. With out our players we don’t have a volleyball club so “thanks” for bringing your energy. A big high-five to the parents as well, the T2 Volleyball Coaches really enjoy getting to hangout with you before and after practices and talking about how to make the club better. Your feedback has really improved our club this summer. Please feel free to send any feedback about this past summer to t2beachvolleyball@hotmail.com. We will take any feedback very seriously and will always try to improve for next season. Look forward to our upcoming indoor volleyball club this spring. We are starting with a U-17 club, more info will be send out next month and tryout information will be coming as well. A rockin’ summer it was, now go out there and make those indoor teams!!!
So we did not get enough registrations in the past week so unfortunately we had to go ahead and cancel the event! Please email t2beachvolleyball@hotmail.com to register your son/daughter in the FILL IN event for saturday. We are doing a developmental tourney for kids aged U-18, U-16, U-14…we have room for 2 more teams in each division. There will be coaches helping develop the teams as they play. It will be ran in kelowna, so please email me for more info and to secure your spot. Those who are already registered can contact me if they do not wish to attend the FILL IN event/ Developmental tourney on saturday. Sorry for the cancelation but each year teams wait until the last minute to register, and this year we only had 9 teams registered by the week before and we simply needed atleast 12 to get the party started! Thanks to those who registered already. We will still have SOMETHING GREAT for the kids. I think developmental tourneys can be very good for kids, maybe even better than just the regular, NO COACHING tourneys. We all need a little help sometimes!! Can only make you better!! See you Saturday!! Bring your sunscreen!! Email me for more info.
We will accept some late registrations after you are sitting around bored out of your mind cause your not training for volleyball (thats what I feel like when I am not in California training at the level that we are going to be training you guys at) but you might as well sign-up now, since you know you want to!! If you are on the bubble, due to maybe not having as much fun as you may have expected last year, forget that news, its old, and since I like to make things happen better and bigger each year, that is what we are doing! I am bringing in CAROL HAMILTON from San Diego…I will tell you a little story about her…this past weekend we were at a AAA CBVA event in Ocean Park, Santa Monica and I walked up to a player to say “hi” and as we were chatting she was like, “Who are you playing with this year?” and I said, “Carol Hamilton, you probably know her–” and she cut me off with, “Wow! How did you get a player like that?” Which kind of offended me cause i was thinking, “Why couldn’t I get a player ‘like that’?” haha but I got what she was saying….CAROL IS A REALLY GOOD PLAYER AND A GOOD SCORE TO PLAY WITH! And…to have coaching the club this year. I know we are girls coaching, but we are being coached by a player named Scott Davenport *he is a great coach here that teaches the men’s game to the ladies, because in his words, “The women who are playing like men are beating the women playing like women”…so the info we are gathering, is all coming home with us. He says, “Just because you are doing crazy intense drills that look flashy with the “other” coaches, doesn’t mean you are learning anything…you learn by being taught technical things and giving good feedback when it is necessary”…I have to agree with this statement and thus will be teaching super technical info and of course will add some of my T2 flare to it all. So boys, if you wanna play like the big boys or men, we are going to be able to get you there. Register now so you don’t miss out!!
T2 Volleyball has finally went sci-fi…us Beachies don’t really know how to use the internet right? I bet this would be the case about 25 years ago on the beaches of LA, but now, everyone uses this thing. Facebook, google, hotmail, yahoo, msn, and now, the knowledge of WordPress and how to create your own sites is allowing me to make you guys more knowledgable about the coolest club around. But I am bias! You guys try it out for yourself and then let me know what you think. You can make comments here and on the beach. Plus we have a newsletter that is always looking for people to do interviews with, so if you have some “word on the beach” to share, let us know and we can make something happen. Use this website to register, find out more info about events, the club, and camps, and follow Team T2 as they embark upon a new vball journey each summer.
The site will be updated daily so check us out whenever you are bored at work/school to see what is new and exciting on the beach this year! Remember, volleyball is life so go out and live it!
